Horse Trek Weekend

This past weekend the girls ventured into the Aravalli mountains for a horse trek excursion. They stayed at a horse ranch in a completely isolated area, with only the sounds of the horses, peacocks and monkeys to be heard. Two days of horse riding through wilderness and rural villages left the girls with fantastic memories to take home!
Above is where they stayed. It was such a charming little apartment!
Dinner was served outdoors while admiring all 15 of the horses surrounding them!
Some beautiful scenery to trek through.
Kerry on her horse!
Kerry: "The horse trek provided me with mixed emotions mainly because we are on our last week.....this time next week I will be on my way home! However, the peaceful setting creates a very nostalgic atmosphere and allows us to think about our time in India.
On the horses we have seen such beautiful sights, ones that could only be wished for in the UK. The horses are brilliant and I had a brown horse who was born with one eye only bless her! Her name translates to Electric. She was the perfect horse, she always wanted to be in front and was hitting her nose on the horse who was leading us! It was very funny!"
Lucy on her horse!
Lucy: "The horse trek has definitely been one of the highlights of my trip! We stayed in a beautiful room with a roof top terrace perfect for watching the sunset. We ate dinner to the sounds of horses and peacocks with the beautiful Aravalli hills in the background - it was very surreal!
On the trek itself I rode a horse called Padam. She was young and so difficult to control but the views of the hills and small farming villages more than made up for my determined horse!
While caught in monsoon rain, the girls took shelter next to a near by lake...and what a view they got!
Sunset on the horse ranch....what a perfect weekend!
