Exploring the 'Venice of the East'...

So last Sunday the group started their 2nd day with the next part of their orientation, here we discussed more about lesson planning and the syllabus. The group also had their next cooking workshop with Meena Ji where they learnt to make stuffed parantha, yummy!

In the afternoon the group headed off to the city for a tour of the beautiful Udaipur, known as the "Venice of the East" and the most romantic city in India!

Some of the girls posing outside the incredible Jagdish Temple, up close this temple is intrically carved all over.

Next stop was a group photo down at Lake Pichola by the 'ghats'; the word ghats referring to the steps leading down to the lake.

After the city tour we moved on to Monsoon Palace; where you can see spectacular sites of the whole of Udaipur.

And because we thought we didn't have enough group shots, here is another one of everyone outside the palace.
The view from Monsoon Palace, the king built this palace to escape the heat in the summer seasons. Another fun fact is it was featured in the James Bond movie Octopussy.

Finally we ended the day with dinner out at the wonderful Ambrai restaurant, which boasts stunning views overlooking the Lake Pichola and City Palace.

Thank you for reading and stay tuned!
